Mariska Hargitay, who portrays Olivia Benson on the popular TV show Law & Order: SVU, attended Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Los Angeles and couldn’t contain her excitement. She took to Instagram to share her experience, posting pictures of herself wearing a 1989 T-shirt and taking selfies with Today host Savannah Guthrie and Selena Gomez from Only Murders in the Building.
Hargitay expressed her gratitude to Taylor Swift for her poetic and wise music, which inspires and connects people to their delicate emotions, joy, hope, and strength. She thanked Taylor not just for her talent, but also for encouraging others to live and love fearlessly. In her Instagram stories, Hargitay also showcased her collection of friendship bracelets, a fan tradition at Eras Tour shows. One of the bracelets spelled out “Olivia Benson,” in honor of her onscreen character and possibly as a nod to Taylor Swift’s own feline friend.
Savannah Guthrie also shared her excitement on Instagram, revealing that Olivia Benson (the cat) is indeed a “swiftie,” and she had the bracelets to prove it. The magic of the concert was experienced by many other celebrities as well. Jeff Goldblum, Channing Tatum, and Charlize Theron were among the stars spotted enjoying the show. It’s no surprise that Taylor Swift’s concerts attract such a celebrity following.
Taylor Swift adopted Olivia Benson in 2014 and named her after the character played by Mariska Hargitay on Law & Order: SVU. Olivia, the cat, has even made appearances in Swift’s music videos, including “Blank Space” and “Karma.” In addition to Olivia, Taylor also has cats named after the protagonist of Grey’s Anatomy, Meredith Grey, and the titular character of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
